Thunderbird Cabin
Original RMNP River Front Cabin on Thompson River

You can’t stay any closer to the river because it’s no longer allowed. Thunderbird is an original cabin that was once located inside Rocky Mountain National Park and was moved in the 1940s to its current riverfront setting on the edge of the Thompson River. Today, it sits just minutes from the Beaver Meadows entrance to RMNP and downtown Estes Park. Fish just steps from your cabin.
This thoughtfully updated modern rustic cabin features one bedroom with a queen bed and a pull-out sofa, comfortably sleeping two to three guests. Enjoy your own private fire pit and breathtaking views of scenic water and nature, towering pine trees, and local wildlife.
Guests can BBQ, throw darts, fish, or challenge loved ones to a friendly game of cornhole on the grounds. The cabin includes internet, Roku TV for streaming, a Keurig coffee maker, and a fully stocked kitchen—everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Please note: Little Twig does not have a hot tub. If a hot tub is important to your stay, several of our other cabins offer that feature
